President Bola Tinubu departed for the United Kingdom yesterday to begin a two-week vacation, which is part of his yearly leave. This trip comes after his recent official visit to China and a brief stay in the UK. During his time in the UK, President Tinubu is expected to reflect on his administration's economic reforms while engaging in some work-related activities, making this a working vacation and retreat.

It's worth noting that the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the trip, providing insight into the President's plans.

This call, issued by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, on January 3, 2025, mandates immediate evacuation from Phases I, II, and III of the estate. Hon. Abanika decried the illegal occupation, stating it undermines the objectives of the National Housing Programme (NHP), which aims to provide affordable housing to Nigerians. Shockingly, over 85% of the estate’s units are occupied without authorization, with reports of fraudulent resale of these properties.
