KSDMSMA Boss Congratulates Gov. Ododo on One Year in Office, Highlights Agency’s Landmark Achievements


The Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Drugs and Medical Supplies Management Agency (KSDMSMA), Pharmacist Salamat Onize, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his transformative leadership, which has significantly advanced the agency's operations within his first year in office.

Pharmacist Salamat praised Governor Ododo for his unwavering support and strategic interventions that have enhanced healthcare delivery across the state. She highlighted key achievements under his administration, emphasizing the Governor’s commitment to improving medical supply management in Kogi State.

Key Achievements at KSDMSMA Under Governor Ododo

1. Strategic Partnerships:

Signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with seven leading pharmaceutical companies to ensure a consistent supply of quality drugs and medical consumables to public health facilities statewide.

2. Infrastructure Modernization:

Solar-powered vaccine storage facilities to maintain uninterrupted cold chain operations.

Upgraded central warehouse equipped with air conditioners for optimal medical supply storage.

3. Distribution of Essential Equipment:

Procurement and distribution of transformers, 33 KV generators, and mobile X-ray machines to health facilities across the state’s three senatorial districts.

4. Supply Chain Strengthening:

Establishment of a single supply chain system for consistent delivery of essential medicines.

Renovation of the central warehouse, including improved lighting and waterproofing.

5. Security and Capacity Building:

Enhanced security measures to safeguard medical supplies.

Sponsorship of staff for study tours to enhance the agency's capacity for E-Pharma-grade operations.

6. Financial Support and Stakeholder Engagement:

Financial backing for participation in national health initiatives such as the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) and National Council on Health (NCH).

Development and implementation of the agency’s Annual Operational Plan.

7. Workforce Welfare:

Implementation of the minimum wage policy and prompt payment of salaries to boost staff morale and productivity.

8. Enhanced Warehouse Operations:

Installation of racking shelves and pallets for optimized warehouse organization and accessibility.

9. Health Support Programs:

Provision of free drugs during Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (MNCH) Week to benefit underserved communities.

The Executive Secretary expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ododo, stating, “His visionary leadership has elevated KSDMSMA to a model agency, enabling us to fulfill our mandate effectively.
