Hon. Abanika Taiye Reassures Commitment to Quality as Housing Ministry Inspects Ongoing Projects at Kogi State University, Kabba

As part of the follow-up to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s recent visit to Kogi State University, Kabba, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, led a team from the ministry on an inspection tour of ongoing construction projects within the institution.

The inspection covered key facilities including the Senate Building, Male and Female Hostels, and the Faculty of Science, all of which are currently at different stages of completion.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Abanika emphasized the state government’s unwavering commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that meets acceptable standards. He warned contractors against cutting corners and insisted that all materials and works must strictly adhere to the approved Bill of Quantities (BoQ).

“Only the best quality must be used. I don’t mind coming to site myself every day to ensure that the right thing is being done,” he stated.

The Commissioner commended the progress made so far but urged all contractors to sustain the pace of work to ensure timely completion in line with Governor Ododo’s developmental vision for the education sector.

In response, the various contractors expressed appreciation to the Commissioner and his team for their constant supervision and described the ministry’s approach as that of a true partner in progress. They assured the state government of their commitment to delivering quality projects that would stand the test of time.
