Two Years of Impact: Gov. Ododo’s Legacy in Motion as Hon. Abanika Taiye Hails Governor’s Historic Leadership

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has extolled the sterling leadership qualities of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing his first two years in office as historic, memorable and profoundly impactful.

In a congratulatory message marking the Governor’s second anniversary in office, Hon. Abanika noted that Governor Ododo’s administration has continued to set new standards in governance, infrastructure development, and people-oriented policies, firmly placing Kogi State on the path of sustainable growth and inclusive development.

According to the Commissioner, Governor Ododo has, within a short period, earned several commendable appellations from citizens and stakeholders across the state, including Mr. Infrastructure, the Chief Servant, Humility Personified Governor, the Health-Friendly Governor, the Education-Supportive Governor, and the Youth Ambassador.

“These titles are not mere praises; they are reflections of the Governor’s visible commitment to the welfare of the people, his massive investment in critical infrastructure, and his passion for empowering the youth, improving healthcare delivery, and strengthening the education sector,” Abanika stated.

He added that under Governor Ododo’s purposeful leadership, Kogi State has witnessed remarkable progress in road construction, urban renewal, healthcare facilities, educational support programmes, civil service reforms, and economic revitalisation initiatives that are already yielding positive results.

Hon. Abanika further described Governor Ododo as a servant-leader whose humility, accessibility and consultative style of governance have endeared him to the people, while consolidating on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor.

“We are immensely proud of our amiable Governor. His leadership has brought renewed hope to our people and restored confidence in government. We urge him to continue on this noble path of service and transformation,” he said.

Looking ahead, the Commissioner expressed optimism that the next two years of the Governor’s first tenure would deliver even more reputable development, adding that the people of Kogi State eagerly anticipate another four years from 2028 to fully actualise the Governor’s long-term vision for the state.

“Your eight years of service are ordained and sacrosanct. The trajectory you have set guarantees that Kogi State will emerge as a model of good governance, infrastructural excellence and economic stability,” Abanika affirmed.

He also reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to the Governor’s development agenda, stressing that the Ministry remains a strategic partner in the realisation of the Kogi State 32-Year Development Plan.

“The Ministry will continue to synergise and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to translate His Excellency’s vision into tangible realities through sound urban policies, innovative project designs, accurate Bills of Quantities, and effective supervision of government building projects across the state,” he assured.

Hon. Abanika concluded by praying for divine wisdom, strength and guidance for Governor Ododo, as he continues to steer the affairs of Kogi State towards greater heights of prosperity and sustainable development.
