Hon. Abanika Hails Alh. Yahaya Bello’s Landslide APC Primary Victory, Says Opposition Has Become Toothless in Kogi

The Kogi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has congratulated the former Governor of Kogi State and supreme leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, on his overwhelming victory at the APC senatorial primary election held on Monday, May 18, where he emerged as the party’s candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District.

Hon. Abanika described the victory as a clear reflection of the massive goodwill, political influence and enduring love the people of Kogi State, particularly those in Kogi Central, have for the former governor.

According to him, the outcome of the primary election has once again demonstrated that the political structure and legacy built by Alh. Yahaya Bello remain firmly rooted across the state.

The Commissioner further stated that the overwhelming support enjoyed by Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo and Alh. Yahaya Bello would undoubtedly translate into massive victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

He noted that the opposition in Kogi State has lost relevance and no longer poses any serious political threat to the ruling party.

“As of today, the opposition has become toothless and can no longer bite. The APC remains the most formidable and people-oriented political party in Kogi State,” he stated.

Hon. Abanika advised opposition figures in the state to join the APC in order to remain politically relevant and collectively contribute to the growth and development of Kogi State.

The Commissioner particularly appreciated the people of Ebiya District in Ajaokuta Local Government Area for their unwavering support for Alh. Yahaya Bello during the primary election, noting that he was personally present in the area to vote and monitor the exercise and he witnessed the impressive turnout and solidarity displayed by party faithful.

He assured the people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency that the constituency remains in capable hands and would continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy under the APC-led administration.

Hon. Abanika reaffirmed the commitment of the ruling party to sustaining development, unity and inclusive governance across Kogi State.
