HON. ABANIKA TAIYE HAILS GOVERNOR ODODO AS FIRST LADY REMI TINUBU COMMISSIONS KEY PROJECTS IN KOGI
The Kogi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing purposeful leadership that has continued to attract national recognition and transformative development across the state.
Hon. Abanika gave the commendation following the successful one-day working visit of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Kogi State, during which she commissioned the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House and the Primary Healthcare Centre at Lokongoma Phase I, Lokoja, as part of activities under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
The Commissioner described the visit as a clear testament to the confidence reposed in the administration of Governor Ododo and his unwavering commitment to infrastructure development, quality healthcare, women empowerment and improved welfare of the people.
He noted that the successful execution of the projects reflects the Governor’s resolve to deliver sustainable development and responsive governance, adding that the commissioning of the projects marks another significant milestone in the state’s development agenda.
Hon. Abanika also acknowledged the invaluable support of the First Lady of Kogi State, Her Excellency, Hajiya Sefinat Ahmed Usman Ododo, whose dedication to the welfare of women, children and vulnerable groups has continued to complement the programmes of the state government.
He equally appreciated and commended the Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ali Bello, for his strategic coordination, effective leadership and valuable contributions towards the successful implementation of key projects and programmes of the administration, which continue to drive sustainable development and improve the lives of the people of Kogi State.
The Commissioner further recognized the outstanding contributions of the Director General of the Kogi State Pension Commission, Hajiya Mariam Abedo, particularly her commitment and support towards the actualization of the Kogi State Pension House project, now named the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Pension and Treasury House. He noted that her dedication, professionalism and collaborative efforts played a significant role in the successful delivery of the landmark project, describing her contribution as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to strengthening pension administration and providing improved working conditions for effective service delivery.
Hon. Abanika also commended the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Kogi State Chapter, for its valuable support and contribution towards the completion of the Pension House project. He acknowledged the commitment of the local government councils in the state towards complementing the efforts of the state government in delivering impactful projects that promote institutional growth and improve public service administration.
He also appreciated the invaluable contributions of the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Haj. Dr. Habibat Oyiza Onumoko, and other senior government officials whose commitment, diligence and collective efforts contributed immensely to the successful execution of government initiatives and the overall development agenda of the state.
He further applauded Senator Oluremi Tinubu for empowering over 800 women in Kogi State through the Renewed Hope Initiative and for inspecting the National Community Food Bank Project for the North Central Zone, describing the interventions as timely and impactful.
Hon. Abanika reaffirmed that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will remain steadfast in delivering on its mandate of monitoring, supervising and ensuring quality, timely and value-driven execution of all government infrastructure projects across Kogi State.
He emphasized that, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Ministry will continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and excellence in project implementation to ensure that every infrastructure investment delivers maximum benefit to the people.
The Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s vision of building a prosperous and modern Kogi State through strategic housing and urban development initiatives, while urging citizens to continue supporting the administration in its drive to deliver more democratic dividends.
