KSU Kabba: Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Pays Supervisory Visit to Ongoing Constructions
The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, alongside his top management team and technical experts, paid a scheduled supervisory visit to Kogi State University (KSU) Kabba on February 14, 2025, to assess the progress of ongoing construction projects within the institution.
The Commissioner and his delegation were warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.I.T Eniola, and the Director of Physical Planning of the university. The inspection tour covered key infrastructural projects, including:
Senate Building – handled by AM' Synergy Nigeria Limited
Male Hostel – handled by SIL Energy
Female Hostel – handled by Musalib Construction Limited
Faculty of Science – handled by Ridge Prime Limited
During the visit, Hon. Abanika Taiye commended the contractors for the job done so far. However, he made critical observations and reminded all contractors of the Government’s zero tolerance for substandard projects. He emphasized that the administration of His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, is committed to ensuring value for money in all infrastructural developments.
The Commissioner also applauded the university management for its proactive monitoring of the projects, noting that their involvement has significantly contributed to maintaining quality standards. He further urged contractors to keep the ministry informed at every phase of the construction process to ensure transparency and compliance with contractual agreements.
In response, representatives of AM' Synergy Nigeria Limited and SIL Energy acknowledged the government’s strict oversight, stating that it has driven them to uphold high construction standards. They reassured the Commissioner that they would deliver projects of the highest quality, ensuring that the State Government is proud of the final outcome.
Speaking on behalf of the university, Prof. K.I.T Eniola expressed profound gratitude to the State Government under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for prioritizing educational infrastructure. He pledged the university’s continued cooperation in monitoring the projects to guarantee adherence to quality standards.
