Minimum Wage: Organized Labour to Commence Indefinite Strike

Organized Labour has declared an indefinite nationwide strike starting Monday, June 3, 2024, over the Federal Government's failure to meet demands for a new Minimum Wage.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) announced the strike at a news conference on Friday in Abuja. NLC President Joe Ajaero and TUC President Festus Osito stated the strike is unavoidable due to the government's inaction on wage adjustments and reversing the electricity tariff hike.

They apologized for the inconvenience to Nigerians, asserting it is the only logical course of action.
