Pastor Halimat Saliu Congratulates Gov. Ododo, Hails Judiciary for Upholding Justice

Kogi-born woman of God and a seasoned broadcaster, Pastor Halimat Saliu, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his overwhelming victory at the Kogi State Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

Reacting to the victory, Pastor Halimat described Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as "a light set on a hill which no one can quench." She emphasized that the people of Kogi State overwhelmingly voted for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo during the governorship election and praised the judiciary for not being swayed by emotions and sentiments, as displayed by the opposition during the legal tussle. In her words:

"I want to specially congratulate His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on his well-deserved victory at the tribunal. Kogi State, having enjoyed and witnessed the true dividends of democracy under the previous administration of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, voted overwhelmingly for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to pave the way for consolidation and to align Kogi State with the renewed hope of the federal government. It is quite unfortunate that some persons are being misled to institute unnecessary court litigations. While it is within their right to do so, we must also realize that in every election there will always be a winner. Whoever is defeated should be humble enough to join the winning team in the developmental agenda, if indeed the development of the state was their true intention."

Pastor Halimat added that within the short time Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has been in office, he has initiated laudable programs and policies to the admiration of all in the state. Hence, he should be encouraged and supported by all, irrespective of political affiliation, tribe, or creed.

The woman of God further prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and sound health for the Executive Governor of Kogi State and his cabinet members in piloting the affairs of the state.
