Gov. Ododo's Senior Special Assistant on Child Abuse Visits Kogi State Specialist Hospital for Sensitization, Commends Management for Quality Healthcare Delivery
The Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Child Abuse, Hon. Jemila Muhammed, paid a visit to the pediatric ward of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, as part of her ongoing sensitization campaign on child abuse.
During her visit, Hon. Jemila Muhammed addressed parents at the ward, commending their dedication to ensuring the well-being of their children and prioritizing their health. She noted that His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, as a father to all children in the state, is deeply committed to their welfare. She highlighted that her appointment as the Senior Special Assistant on Child Abuse reflects the administration’s resolve to combat all forms of abuse against children.
In her lecture, Hon. Jemila emphasized the need for parents to give quality attention to their children and remain vigilant about the people their children interact with, including family members and outsiders. She cautioned that child abuse is not limited to female children, as male children are equally at risk. "Gone are the days when people believed only female children were abused; both male and female children suffer abuses, sometimes from individuals they consider as relatives," she stated.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, Prof. Isah Yahaya Adagiri, expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, for appointing capable individuals to drive his administration's policies. He commended Hon. Jemila Muhammed for her visit and described it as a morale booster for the hospital management and staff. Prof. Adagiri also recalled a recent humanitarian visit by Her Excellency, Hajiya Sefinat Ahmed Usman Ododo, which further demonstrated the government’s prioritization of healthcare. He assured that the hospital management and staff remain committed to delivering excellent healthcare services to the people of Kogi State.
Earlier, Hon. Jemila had a meeting with Prof. Adagiri, where she commended the hospital for its professionalism and quality service delivery. She acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the hospital staff, describing them as key players in achieving the state's healthcare goals.
The highlight of Hon. Jemila Muhammed’s visit was the distribution of cooked food, toiletries, and cash gifts to children in the pediatric ward, bringing smiles to the faces of the young patients and their families.
