Easter: Kogi State Accountant-General, Habibat-Oyiza felicitates Christians, urges prayers for peace, stability

Kogi State Accountant-General, Dr Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko has congratulated the Christian faithful on the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging them to emulate Christ’s virtues of humility, perseverance and compassion.


The Accountant General in her goodwill message, explained that Easter is a season that reminds all of the timeless virtues of compassion, sacrifice, and forgiveness. 


According to her, these virtues, embodied by Jesus Christ, are not only central to the Christian faith but are values everyone should strive to uphold.


Dr Habibat urged religious leaders in the state to always use their platforms to preach peace, promote interfaith harmony, and strengthen the bonds of unity among the people.


While using the occasion to appreciate the support of the Christian community in the state for the present administration, she charged them to continue to live in peace and harmony with adherents of other religions, noting that good neighborliness, selflessness, and patience are among the lessons taught and exemplified by Jesus Christ.


The Accountant General reiterated the government of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo's commitments to transparency, accountability and service delivery, assuring the people of the state of continued efforts towards improved governance and economic development.
