Groundbreaking of New Estate in Kogi: Hon. Abanika Reassures Kogites of Better Days Under Gov. Ododo’s Housing Drive

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has described the groundbreaking of Ita Azi Court by Mufkad Estate as a significant milestone in the housing revolution spearheaded by the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Speaking at the ceremony held opposite the Itakpe Train Station, Hon. Abanika called the project a bold and strategic step toward reducing the housing deficit in Kogi State. He noted that once completed, the estate would offer modern and comfortable living spaces, complete with state-of-the-art amenities designed to enhance residents' quality of life.

The Commissioner explained that the location of the estate was no coincidence but a deliberate alignment with the administration’s vision for integrated urban development. By situating the estate near major transport infrastructure, such as the Itakpe Train Station, the government aims to foster vibrant, connected, and sustainable communities.

Emphasizing the importance of the project, Hon. Abanika described the estate as more than a housing solution; stressing that it is also a catalyst for economic growth. “This initiative will stimulate local employment, attract investment, and boost commercial activity while offering inclusive, future-ready urban spaces,” he said.

He expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ododo for creating a business-friendly environment that encourages robust private sector participation. He also lauded Mufkad Estate for their visionary investment and belief in Kogi State’s potential.

“To Mufkad Estate, we say thank you for this laudable investment. Your confidence in our state reflects the progressive climate being nurtured by His Excellency,” he remarked.

Hon. Abanika also extended gratitude to the people of Itakpe and neighboring communities for their cooperation and support, acknowledging them as essential partners in the state’s development journey.

He commended his ministry’s team and other stakeholders for their dedication and tireless efforts in turning policy into impactful outcomes.

In a call to action, the Commissioner urged Kogi indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, to support and patronize the estate, assuring them that the benefits of Ita Azi Court will be far-reaching and transformative.
