Hon. Abanika Welcomes Governor Ododo to Ajaokuta for Historic Flag-Off of 12.5KM Unosi-Eganyi- Ebiya Road Project

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has warmly welcomed His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to Ajaokuta Local Government Area for the official flag-off of the 12.5-kilometre Unosi–Eganyi–Ebiya Road project, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Tuesday, 12th August 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Expressing joy over the historic occasion, Hon. Abanika called on all sons and daughters of Ajaokuta Local Government to turn out en masse to accord the Governor a befitting and memorable reception.

He also commended the Honourable Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulraheem Sanni Egidi, for his exemplary leadership and for hosting the Governor during this significant event.

Hon. Abanika described the project as a clear demonstration of Governor Ododo’s love and commitment to the progress and wellbeing of the people of Ajaokuta. He prayed for the Governor’s continued good health, wisdom, and divine guidance in the service of Kogi State.

In line with the directive of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, to ensure the provision of potable water across all local government areas, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon.   The Kogi State Government has issued a firm directive to individuals unlawfully occupying properties within the National Housing Estate at Crusher, Lokoja. This call, issued by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, on January 3, 2025, mandates immediate evacuation from Phases I, II, and III of the estate. Hon. Abanika decried the illegal occupation, stating it undermines the objectives of the National Housing Programme (NHP), which aims to provide affordable housing to Nigerians.
