Kogi @ 34: Hon. Abanika Taiye Salutes the People, Commends Governor Ododo’s Commitment to Progress

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has joined millions of Kogites in celebrating the 34th anniversary of the creation of Kogi State.

In his anniversary message, the Commissioner described the day as a defining moment that calls for gratitude to God, reflection on how far the state has come, and a collective resolve to build a more prosperous future. He noted that from its creation in 1991 to date, Kogi has recorded steady growth in governance, infrastructure, and human capacity, owing to the contributions of past leaders and the resilience of its people.

Hon. Abanika particularly commended the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his focused leadership and for consolidating the achievements of his predecessors, especially the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello. He applauded Governor Ododo’s commitment to strengthening security, improving the welfare of workers, driving urban renewal, and expanding access to quality healthcare and infrastructure.

According to the Commissioner, these ongoing reforms are already shaping Kogi into a modern state with stronger institutions and better opportunities for its citizens.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance for the Governor and his team and urged Kogites across all divides to embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility in moving the state forward.
