The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has felicitated the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, on the occasion of her birthday.

Hon. Abanika described Dr. Ayoade as a dutiful, experienced and dependable public servant whose commitment to the service of Kogi State and the success of the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, remains commendable.

He particularly applauded her Consistent support for Governor Ododo, noting that her wealth of experience, diligence and dedication have continued to contribute meaningfully to the effective coordination of government business and the implementation of the administration’s policies and programmes.

The Commissioner further commended the SGS for her steadfastness, maturity and sense of responsibility in the discharge of her duties, describing her as a valuable member of the administration and an important pillar in the collective efforts to advance the development of Kogi State.

While celebrating her accomplishments and years of dedicated service, Hon. Abanika Taiye prayed Almighty God to continue to strengthen her, grant her sound health, wisdom and renewed grace to serve the state and humanity.

He wished her many more fruitful years, greater accomplishments, long life and prosperity, as well as continued fulfilment in all her endeavours.

The Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, received an accreditation team from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria to assess the hospital’s facilities and readiness for the commencement of Residency Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Kogi State Warns Ihiaga Youths Against Encroaching on Kogi Poly Land

The Kogi State Government has issued a stern warning to the youths of Ihiaga in Okehi Local Government Area, cautioning them to stay off the land belonging to Kogi State Polytechnic, Itakpe Campus. The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, delivered the warning during an inspection of the ongoing perimeter fencing project at the Polytechnic.
