Gov. Ododo Rewards Loyalty, Consolidates on Legacy – Commissioner Abanika Tells Support Group

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has affirmed that His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo is a leader who values loyalty and does not abandon those who have contributed to his success.

Hon. Abanika made this statement while addressing members of the "Engr. Mustapha Ebira Worldwide Platform for Usman Ododo Governor" during their end-of-year gathering in Ogaminana, Adavi Local Government Area. The event, which drew participants from the five Local Government Areas of Kogi Central Senatorial District and those in diaspora, also served as a forum to reaffirm support for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration in Kogi State.

In his address, Hon. Abanika expressed profound gratitude to the immediate past Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, whom he described as a visionary leader, and other notable figures in Kogi Central for their unwavering support, which has ensured the successes recorded by Governor Ododo's administration.

The Commissioner highlighted the critical role played by the Engr. Mustapha Ebira Worldwide Platform during the gubernatorial campaign. He recounted how the group utilized various mediums such as radio, social media, one-on-one engagements, and religious prayers to mobilize support for Governor Ododo. He noted that the Governor, in recognition of their efforts, has rewarded several members of the group, including himself, with strategic appointments.

“This is a testament to the track record of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo that he rewards labor and those who stood by him in the struggle,” Hon. Abanika stated.

He went on to enumerate some of the achievements of Governor Ododo's administration, including the consolidation of Alh. Yahaya Bello’s legacy of prompt salary and pension payments, the implementation of the minimum wage, the payment of WAEC fees for senior secondary school students in public schools, and significant infrastructural developments across the state.

Hon. Abanika urged the supporters to remain steadfast in their backing of the Governor, assuring them of more dividends of democracy under his leadership. He also prayed for God’s blessings on Governor Ododo, hoping for his continued success and a full two terms in office.

Additionally, the Commissioner called on the people to keep praying for the former Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello, to overcome challenges posed by his detractors.
In the spirit of celebration, Hon. Abanika also attended the wedding ceremonies of the children of two prominent families in Kogi State, Hajiya Saiki Sefinatu and the Vice-Chancellor of Confluence University, Prof. Abdulrahaman Asipita Salawu. He joined other statesmen in congratulating the families and prayed for lasting happiness for the couples and long life for their parents to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
