...Attends Prayer in Adu' in honour of Gov. Ododo and Hon. Sanni Egidi 


The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, joined the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the Honourable Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Barr. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, at the groundbreaking ceremony for five LNG/CNG projects in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. The projects, spearheaded by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), mark a significant step in enhancing energy infrastructure in the state.

Speaking to the press after the event, Hon. Abanika commended Governor Ododo and Hon. Egidi for their efforts in attracting federal projects to the state, emphasizing that such developments were made possible by the prevailing peace and security in Kogi. He noted that NNPCL’s Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, also acknowledged the state’s stability as a key factor in siting the projects in Ajaokuta.


The Commissioner described Kogi State as Nigeria’s emerging industrial hub and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the project. He urged the people of Ajaokuta to maximize the benefits of the investment by ensuring the security and maintenance of the facilities. He further emphasized that the projects would generate hundreds of jobs and significantly boost economic growth in the region.

Earlier, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, visited the Central Mosque in Adu, Ebiya North, Ajaokuta Local Government Area, which comprises five farm centers namely; Ubatoto, Epiri, Adu', Okuhaobanyi, Areovagu and the Fulani community of the area for an annual prayer session. This year's prayer was organized to pray for the land and also in honour of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, and the Honourable Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Barr. Sanni  Egidi Abdulraheem

While addressing the Muslim community, Hon. Abanika expressed appreciation for their unwavering love and support for the administration of Governor Ododo and their own son and leader, Hon. Egidi. He emphasized that their cooperation and solidarity had contributed to the recent donation of a transformer by the Honourable Member, along with other developmental projects in the Adu area.


He urged the community to continue their prayers and support, assuring them that they would benefit further from the dividends of democracy under the APC-led government in Kogi State.


As a gesture of support, Hon. Abanika donated a cash gift to aid the mosque and the community.


Overjoyed by his generosity, the entire Muslim Ummah offered prayers for his strength and good health, commending him as a worthy ambassador of Ajaokuta Local Government in the administration of Governor Ododo.
