Kogi Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Felicitates with Hon. Wemi Jones on His Birthday

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his colleague, Hon. Wemi Jones, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, on the occasion of his birthday.

In a goodwill message, Hon. Abanika described Hon. Wemi Jones as a visionary leader and a pillar of educational transformation in Kogi State. He commended him for his remarkable contributions to the state’s educational sector, noting that his leadership has significantly impacted the lives of students and educators alike.

"I wish to personally extend my warm felicitation to my brother and friend, Hon. Wemi Jones, on his birthday. He is a great leader who has been instrumental in the actualization and implementation of the progressive educational policies of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. Under his stewardship, Kogi students now enjoy free education, covering primary school certificate examination fees, junior and senior secondary school examination fees, as well as the purchase of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for students. Most recently, the payment of bursary allowances to Kogi State students in tertiary institutions further underscores his commitment to educational development."

Hon. Abanika further highlighted that under Hon. Wemi Jones’ watch, the Kogi State Government has successfully established and maintained two functional state-owned universities, a feat that has expanded access to quality higher education in the state.

"What more can we say but to appreciate this distinguished public servant for his massive contributions to governance and humanity," Hon. Abanika added.

He prayed for God’s continuous guidance, wisdom, and protection upon Hon. Wemi Jones, wishing him greater success in his assignments and political journey.
