Eid-el-Adha: Hon. Abanika Extends Food Items, Clothing, and Cash Gifts to People of Ajaokuta

In the spirit of Eid-el-Adha and in keeping with his tradition of generosity, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has distributed food items, clothing materials, and cash gifts to residents of Ajaokuta Local Government Area.

The distribution exercise, which took place in Ebiya District, brought together various groups, including women, youths, elders, and religious leaders, who all benefited from the Commissioner’s gesture of goodwill.

While addressing the press, Hon. Abanika Taiye emphasized that Eid-el-Adha is a time of sacrifice and devotion, drawing inspiration from the unwavering obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail  in submission to the will of Allah. He noted that, in the same vein, leaders must be willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the people.

“As a Commissioner in the State Executive Council, I am here to represent and serve the good people of Ajaokuta and Kogi State in general. It is my duty to ensure that they benefit from the dividends of democracy under the dynamic leadership of His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State,” he said.

Hon. Abanika also used the opportunity to call for collective prayers for the continued peace, progress, and development of Ajaokuta Local Government Area and Kogi State at large. He particularly urged prayers for the state’s leadership, including Governor Ododo and Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulrahim, the Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, whom he described as the political leader of the Local Government.

He concluded by assuring the people of the government's unwavering commitment to their welfare and wished the Muslim Ummah a joyful and blessed Eid Mubarak.

The beneficiaries, in their response, expressed deep appreciation for the kind gesture, describing Hon. Abanika Taiye as a blessing and a rare gift to Ajaokuta Local Government. They commended his consistent show of compassion and prayed for continued strength and success in his service to the people.
