Hon. Abanika Hosts Ajaokuta Non-Indigenes as They Endorse Gov. Ododo, Back Hon. Sanni Egidi for Second Term

Non-indigenes residing in Ajaokuta Federal Constituency have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, while also endorsing Hon. Abdulraheem Sanni Egidi for a second term in the House of Representatives.

The group, comprising members of diverse ethnic backgrounds—Tiv, Idoma, Yoruba, Hausa, Ibaji, Edo/Delta, Akwa-Cross (Cross River/Akwa Ibom), and Igbo paid a courtesy visit on Tuesday to the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, at his office in Lokoja.

Led by Hon. Obiakor Jude Obiora, the Senior Special Assistant to Hon. Abdulraheem Sanni Egidi, the delegation hailed the achievements of Governor Ododo, describing him as a “servant leader who has redefined governance in Kogi State.” The group declared their readiness to mobilize support across the constituency to ensure Governor Ododo secures a second term in office, stressing that his continued leadership is “non-negotiable.”

They also lauded Hon. Abdulraheem Sanni Egidi for his people-centered representation, citing his facilitation of road construction, provision of transformers, drilling of motorized boreholes, and sponsorship of impactful legislative bills as commendable milestones. They emphasized that his performance deserves another term in the green chamber of the National Assembly.

In their remarks, the non-indigenes described Hon. Abanika Taiye as a bridge-builder who has brought government closer to the grassroots. They appealed for greater inclusion in the political and developmental structure of the state, noting that many of them have lived in Ajaokuta for decades and now see it as home.

In response, Hon. Abanika Taiye thanked the delegation for their visit and conveyed the goodwill of the Governor. He reiterated the commitment of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to inclusive governance, saying, “The Governor considers himself the Chief Servant of all, irrespective of tribe or religion.”

Hon. Abanika outlined the achievements of the current administration, including inclusive appointments, the introduction of free education in public schools, road infrastructure development, and employment generation. He attributed several ongoing projects in Ajaokuta to the strong synergy between Governor Ododo and Hon. Sanni Egidi.

The commissioner assured the group that every ethnic community in the state would be carried along in governance. He urged them to remain patient and prayerful as the administration unfolds more programs to meet the aspirations of all Kogites.

He also commended the Governor for recently distributing brand new vehicles to all 21 local government chairmen in the state; a gesture he said would enhance grassroots governance and service delivery.

The highlight of the meeting was a resounding endorsement of both Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term and Hon. Abdulraheem Sanni Egidi’s re-election bid for the House of Representatives.
