New DG of Lands, NGO Pay Courtesy Visit to Kogi Housing Commissioner

The Kogi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, on Monday, August 18, 2025, played host to the newly appointed Director General of Lands, Salihu Otaru Kehinde Augustine, and representatives of Century 21st Freedom International, a frontline non-governmental organization.


The visit, which took place at the Commissioner’s office in Lokoja, provided an opportunity for the new DG to commend the Commissioner for what he described as his “dedication, diligence, and commitment to duty.” He pledged to work closely with the ministry to advance the state’s infrastructural growth in line with the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Hon. Abanika, while congratulating the DG on his appointment, assured him of the ministry’s readiness to collaborate effectively. He stressed that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development remains committed to the Governor’s mandate of providing affordable housing and sustainable urban planning across the state.

Also received during the courtesy call was Century 21st Freedom International. The Commissioner lauded the NGO for its humanitarian services and assured them of possible areas of partnership. He noted that the Ododo administration welcomes collaborations that will improve the welfare and living standards of Kogi people.
