Abanika Leads Kogi Central Artisans to Endorse Yahaya Bello for Senate, Cites Developmental Strides

The Kogi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, on Saturday led a group of artisans from Kogi Central to Abuja to formally endorse former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking at the endorsement event, Hon. Abanika described the former governor as a leader who had “paid his dues” through his contributions to the development of Kogi State, particularly Kogi Central.

The group Chairman highlighted major projects and achievements recorded during Bello’s administration, including the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, the Confluence University Teaching Hospital, formerly Reference Hospital, Okene, road construction and rehabilitation, massive employment opportunities and empowerment programmes.

Abanika also commended the former governor’s administration for its efforts in improving security across Kogi Central, describing security as a critical foundation for sustainable development and economic growth.

According to him, the endorsement is not merely about politics but an expression of appreciation for a leader who, in their assessment, contributed significantly to the growth and development of the area.

“This election is more of an appreciation of a man who has done well. It is also an opportunity to encourage him to continue giving back to society and contributing his wealth of experience to the development of our people,” Abanika said.

Responding, Alhaji Yahaya Bello appreciated the artisans and other supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of his continued commitment to the development of Kogi Central, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

The former governor also called for sustained support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi State and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level.

He urged the people to remain united and supportive of government programmes aimed at promoting development, peace and prosperity across the state and the country.
