The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Kogi State, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has expressed heartfelt condolences to his colleague, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Speaking on behalf of his family and the entire Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye described the late Pa Ijagbemi as “a man of uncommon integrity, a father who lived a life of faith, humility and impact, leaving behind a legacy that will remain evergreen in the hearts of all who knew him.”

Hon. Abanika noted that the late nonagenarian was not only a blessing to his immediate family, but also a pillar in Yagba East and beyond. He further acknowledged that the values of discipline, honesty and service to humanity exemplified by the late Pa Ijagbemi are clearly reflected in the life and service of his son, Hon. Idris Asiru, whose contributions to the progress of Kogi State remain commendable.

In his words: “On behalf of my family and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, I extend our deepest sympathies to my dear brother, Hon. Idris Asiru, and the entire Asiru family. Losing a father is one of life’s greatest pains, but we take solace in the fact that Baba lived a fulfilled life and left behind noble legacies for which he will always be remembered.”

Hon. Abanika prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed, grant him eternal rest in Aljanat Firdaus, and give the family the strength to bear the great loss.
