Ajaokuta APC Ward Chairmen Visit Hon. Abanika Taiye, Commend Governor Ododo’s Transformative Leadership

In a show of solidarity and appreciation, the fourteen All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Chairmen from Ajaokuta Local Government Area on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, in his office in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

During the visit, the ward chairmen praised the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his transformative and people-oriented leadership style, describing him as a true consolidator of good governance. They equally commended Hon. Abanika Taiye for being a worthy son of Ajaokuta and for his recent efforts in mobilising the people of the area for the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise; a gesture they said reflects his commitment to the growth and sustainability of the APC in Kogi State.

The visiting party leaders also appealed to the government to consider offering more appointments to deserving individuals from the area, noting that as grassroots leaders, they remain the first point of contact for the people who look up to them for the dividends of democracy and loyalty to the ruling party.

In his response, Hon. Abanika Taiye expressed profound appreciation to the ward chairmen for the visit and their continued loyalty to the APC. He extolled the supreme leader of the party in the state, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for laying the formidable foundation upon which the APC continues to thrive in Kogi State.

Hon. Abanika also lauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for consolidating on the legacies of his predecessor, describing him as a visionary leader whose inclusive governance style has continued to unite and empower Kogites across all strata.

The Commissioner further commended Hon. (Barr.) Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, for his impactful representation at the federal level and for attracting several developmental projects to the area. He equally appreciated the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello (Dollar), and other critical stakeholders for their steadfastness in ensuring the party’s dominance across the state.

Hon. Abanika assured the ward chairmen that the government of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo remains committed to carrying everyone along and rewarding loyalty in due time. He urged anyone yet to be reached by government appointments or opportunities to remain patient, assuring them that their commitment will not go unnoticed.

He concluded by promising to communicate their requests to the appropriate authorities. The meeting ended on a high note with a unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office, citing their credible performances and enduring impact on governance.

Woman Slumps, Dies While Sharing Testimony In Lagos Church

  A 55-year-old woman, identified as Ifeoma, reportedly died shortly after collapsing while sharing a testimony at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State. The incident occurred around 8:48 am during Sunday service on 8 September 2024, ultimately led to her death a few minutes later. The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this on Wednesday.
