Excitement Sweeps Ajaokuta as Gov. Ododo Lights Up Communities — Hon. Abanika Commends Governor’s Touch of Compassion

It was jubilation galore across Ajaokuta Local Government Area as three communities; Ebiya, Ganaja, and Gidanbass received brand new electricity transformers under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s community electrification initiative.

For years, these communities had endured erratic power supply and prolonged blackouts due to faulty transformers. The arrival of the new units therefore sparked joy and relief among residents, who described the intervention as “timely and life-changing.”

Speaking during the official delivery of the transformers, The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye praised Governor Ododo for his compassionate leadership and commitment to grassroots development. He noted that the gesture reflects the governor’s resolve to improve living conditions across all parts of Kogi State.

“Governor Ododo has once again demonstrated that he is a leader who listens to the people. The good people of Ajaokuta will remain grateful and will stand firmly by him to ensure continuity in governance,” Hon. Abanika stated.

Hon. Abanika also extended appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Hon Abdulmutalib mohammed and the Accountant General of the State, Haj. Habibat Oyiza Tijani, for their respective roles in ensuring the successful delivery of the transformers to the benefiting communities. He noted that their commitment and synergy with the governor’s vision for equitable development have been instrumental in bringing the project to fruition.

He further lauded Hon. Sanni Egidi, Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, for his strong partnership with the governor, describing him as a political bridge-builder whose influence has attracted numerous developmental projects to the area.

Hon. Abanika assured residents that the Ododo-led administration remains deeply committed to the progress of Ajaokuta, urging them to sustain their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both state and federal levels.

Community leaders, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders were present to receive the transformers on behalf of their people. They offered prayers for Governor Ododo, wishing him good health and long life to continue his transformational agenda.

It will be recalled that earlier in the week, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo commissioned 30 transformers for 30 communities across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State, a move widely praised as a major stride toward rural electrification and community empowerment.

Woman Slumps, Dies While Sharing Testimony In Lagos Church

  A 55-year-old woman, identified as Ifeoma, reportedly died shortly after collapsing while sharing a testimony at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State. The incident occurred around 8:48 am during Sunday service on 8 September 2024, ultimately led to her death a few minutes later. The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this on Wednesday.
