Hajiya Omade Visits Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Donates Cash to Patients

The Chief Executive Officer of the Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency, Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade, has extended her philanthropic gesture to patients at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, through her foundation, "My People First", as part of activities marking the foundation’s first anniversary.

During the outreach, Hajiya Omade offered direct cash donations to patients in the Accident and Emergency Unit, Maternity Ward, and Pediatric Ward of the hospital.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, Hajiya Omade expressed gratitude to God for His grace upon her life and acknowledged the support of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, whose confidence and leadership, she said, provided her the opportunity to serve in her current capacity.

According to her, the outreach was inspired by the need to show love and compassion to the living, particularly those in challenging health conditions.

“It is better to celebrate the living than the dead. For every position of privilege we find ourselves, we owe it to God and our people to give back and make a positive difference in their lives,” she stated.

Hajiya Omade explained that she deliberately chose to focus the outreach on Kogi State-owned hospitals as a way of encouraging residents to patronize public health facilities and to boost confidence in the system, considering the massive investment the state government has made in healthcare infrastructure and services.

She further disclosed that her foundation had earlier visited health facilities across Kogi Central Senatorial District, including Obangede, Ihima, and the Reference Hospital, Okene, before proceeding to Lokoja. She added that similar visits would soon be extended to hospitals in Kogi East Senatorial District.

Patients and their relatives at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital were visibly elated by the kind gesture, offering heartfelt prayers for God to bless Hajiya Omade and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for their compassion and commitment to humanity.

In his remarks, the Acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, commended Hajiya Omade for her thoughtfulness and generosity. He assured her that the hospital remains committed to delivering quality and compassionate healthcare to all patients.

Woman Slumps, Dies While Sharing Testimony In Lagos Church

  A 55-year-old woman, identified as Ifeoma, reportedly died shortly after collapsing while sharing a testimony at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State. The incident occurred around 8:48 am during Sunday service on 8 September 2024, ultimately led to her death a few minutes later. The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this on Wednesday.
