The Association of Women Town Planners of Nigeria (AWTPN) on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, in his office in Lokoja.

The delegation, led by the National Chairperson, Mrs. Rekiyat Fache, and the Kogi State Chairperson of the association, commended the Commissioner for his commitment to infrastructural development and his remarkable contributions to orderly urban planning across the state.

During the visit, both parties discussed areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening professional practice, promoting gender inclusion, and supporting the state government’s housing and urban renewal agenda.

The high point of the visit was the presentation of a gift to Hon. Abanika Taiye by the association in recognition of his diligence, hard work, and dedication to service.
