Gov. Ododo’s Birthday a Symbol of New Beginnings, Says Hon. Abanika Taiye

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Kogi State, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has felicitated with the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the occasion of his birthday, describing it as unique and symbolic, as it coincides with the first day of the year.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Abanika noted that Governor Ododo’s birthday, coming on January 1, represents new beginnings, renewed hope, and the promise of greater progress for Kogi State under his purposeful leadership.

The Commissioner extolled the Governor’s laudable achievements since assuming office, particularly his commitment to continuity, people-oriented governance, and the consolidation of the development strides recorded in the state.

 He added that Governor Ododo has continued to demonstrate uncommon dedication to the welfare of the people through impactful policies and inclusive leadership.

Hon. Abanika specifically appreciated the Governor’s unwavering support for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, noting that such support has strengthened the ministry’s capacity to deliver on its mandate of improving urban development, housing delivery, and infrastructural planning across the state.

According to him, the encouragement and confidence reposed in the ministry by Governor Ododo have motivated the leadership and staff to work diligently in translating the administration’s vision into tangible outcomes that benefit the people of Kogi State.

The Commissioner prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, and wisdom for the Governor, wishing him many more years of impactful service to Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

He reaffirmed the ministry’s loyalty and commitment to the Ododo-led administration, assuring that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will continue to support policies and programmes aimed at building a more prosperous and well-planned Kogi State.

  The Kogi State Government has issued a firm directive to individuals unlawfully occupying properties within the National Housing Estate at Crusher, Lokoja. This call, issued by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, on January 3, 2025, mandates immediate evacuation from Phases I, II, and III of the estate. Hon. Abanika decried the illegal occupation, stating it undermines the objectives of the National Housing Programme (NHP), which aims to provide affordable housing to Nigerians.
