Kogi State Specialist Hospital Introduces Afternoon Shift at GOPD to Enhance Patient Care

The Management of Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH), Lokoja, wishes to inform the general public and all members of staff of the introduction of an afternoon shift at the General Out-Patient Department (GOPD), effective from April 1, 2026.

This development is part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare service delivery and ensuring increased access to quality medical care for patients across the state and beyond.

Under the new arrangement, medical doctors at the GOPD will now be available to attend to patients until 7:00 PM daily, thereby extending consultation hours and reducing the burden of long waiting times often experienced during regular hours.

Staff members are encouraged to fully support this initiative, while patients and the general public are advised to take advantage of the extended service hours for timely and efficient medical attention.

The Management remains dedicated to providing patient-centered care and continuously improving service delivery in line with global best practices.
