City Boy Movement Strengthens Kogi Presence, Moves Toward State Inauguration

The City Boy Movement deepened its grassroots reach in Kogi State on Saturday, April 18, 2026, through a well-attended empowerment programme in Lokoja, which also featured a rousing reception for the State Director, Hon. Mark Okpanchi Ogah, as scores of residents turned out to identify with the growing City Boy Movement spirit and its grassroots engagement drive

The event, held at the All Progressives Congress Secretariat, attracted members and supporters from across the state, reflecting growing unity and renewed commitment to the ideals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The empowerment initiative focused on persons living with disabilities, entrepreneurs, and vulnerable citizens drawn from the three senatorial districts of Kogi State, highlighting the movement’s people centred approach and expanding grassroots reach.

Beneficiaries received wheelchairs, sewing machines, clippers, food items amongst other relief packages

In his goodwill message, Hon. Ogah reaffirmed the unity, discipline, and strategic direction of the movement, stressing its commitment to youth empowerment and political mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also appreciated the North Central Director for Contact and Mobilization, Hajia Ramatu Ibrahim, the convener of the programme, for her leadership, dedication, and wisdom, noting that the outing recorded a resounding success built on coordination, commitment, and shared purpose.

The Director commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for visible developmental strides across Kogi State, remarking that impactful leadership naturally earns public confidence and continued support.

He further thanked the national leadership of the movement under Francis Shoga for its support, while extending gratitude to state executives, Coordinator, local government coordinators, stakeholders, and members for their loyalty and sacrifice.

In a separate appreciation message shortly after the event, Hon. Ogah praised members and officials whose resilience, personal sacrifice, financial support, and unwavering dedication ensured the success of the programme despite prevailing challenges, while assuring that the Kogi State chapter remains focused on empowerment, grassroots engagement, and the Renewed Hope mandate.

Concluding, Hon. Ogah announced that the Kogi State chapter would soon host its formal inauguration alongside the unveiling of its state secretariat, describing the forthcoming event as a strategic gathering that will deepen unity, widen participation, and strengthen the movement’s structure across the state.

Goodwill messages were also received from key state executives, including the State Women Leader, Hon Anu Yusuf, the State Coordinator, Hon Jerry Olayemi, the State Secretary, Hon Babatunde Atere and other principal officers. The programme also drew remarks from National leaders of the movement, principally from Hon.
